MY LEARNING FALL AND RISE

       August 12, was the day I came back to Dr. Prestons class hoping to redeem my terrible performance from the year before. I had came in  with a new mindset for not just this class but for all my classes. I knew I was capable of passing all my classes and getting that 4.0 GPA, but the only thing that was standing in my way was my own laziness. My perspective of this class never changed, I knew this class was something special. This class was made to be more than an English class and I didn't take the opportunists that this class gave me, I was really grateful to get a second chance to learn more and do more that can help me.
       It was like deja vu when Dr. Preston went and told us what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. I had an idea on how the course was going to go but I didn't know it was going to be like this. I knew Dr. Preston was going to help us through out the whole way, all I had to do was just ask. Having a teacher that's always going to keep it real with you has its advantages. On the first day of school he gave us a chance to choose how we learn, and not many teachers will give that opportunity.
       If I could pick my favorite daily assignment from this class it would be the journals. I get a chance to write, since I rarely get a chance to write now. Keeping up with blogs been the major problem for me. I try to do them everyday but I just can't think of how to write a post. My best journal that I wrote would have to be the time when I wrote about winning the lottery because that's something I always imagine to happen to me. I would get lost in a fantasy of my family and I living freely not worrying about bills, parents not having to do hard labors and just being able to relax.
     One thing that tested my skills was when I had to do the interview. I have never done anything like that, and I didn't know how to prepare for it. It was a major stepping stone for me because I knew that this was what to expect when looking for a job. I didn't do the best job preparing for it but I felt like if I took my time then I could have done way better. Coming out of your comfort zone is something I had to do to expand my thinking.
     Through out the year I thought to myself on how I can make my work progress better. I found a solution but it was way to late to since we were already heading towards the finl weeks of the semester. For this upcoming semester I need to put my work first and make sure to post a blog everyday. There will be some ups and downs but as long as I remain focus, I'll be fine.
    When I started this class, I noticed I had a couple of friends in the class, I knew hearing different point of views would help me become a better learner. Learning is something simple but at the same time kind of complicated. It's all up to the person to determine how well you would learn. I learned how to prepare for a job and that's something I thought I would learn on my own but i'm grateful that I got taught on how to prepare for a job.

THE VALUE OF MY TIME

I'm using my time wisely by catching up on make-up work and not getting distracted by people. I feel like I'm really getting back an track. In order to keep my consistency good I will have to learn how to use my time wisely. If i do this than I'll have one amazing school year.

SO THIS GUY GOES FOR A WALK

What happen to him during that night with the police played a big role on him writing the pedestrian. It made him just snap and write exactly what he had in his mind. The way the police stopped him, made his tone in the story more unique because he actually experienced it. The character of the story was his feelings through out that walk.The plot of the story is what he think will happen in the future if society keeps doing this

LET ME WALK YOU THROUGH THE PEDESTRIAN

Bradbury thoughts and feelings during this walk is really extraordinary. He feels that technology is going to take over the world and the effects that it’s going to leave behind is a world of isolation and depression. Him going for a walk at night around his block seemed normal but the police thought otherwise. He didn’t feel like he did anything wrong so it left him questioning why the police would want to stop him for. Who would've thought that getting stopped by the police on harmful walk would lead to a man writing one of the most powerful stories.

His point of perspective towards the story is that the world is going to be run by technology and there will be no one that he can talk to. During his walk he describes the loneliness that he sees on the streets. Also when the police asks him where his wife, he replies with a no and then a no one wanted me, which means that he's pretty lonely and has no one that loves him. He sees the police as being one sided and not caring for what he has to say. The police is represented as robot because that’s how the world will turn it in his mind, a world run by robots with no humans to talk to.

I would say that Bradbury is a lonely person who isn’t good with talking to people.It seems that he may say the right thing but in a wrong way. During his walk before he wrote this story, he told the police officer that he was putting his foot in front of another, which seemed to the cop as if he was trying to play smart with him. In the story Bradbury really seems to miss how it used to be before technology took over. The world he describes is dead but with people only stuck on technology. His character seems to be a harmless person who just going for a walk which is normal but the society that he lives in has changed. 

Technology has evolved to be something great, but how long will it take until it becomes something bad. Since almost every person has some sort of technology in their home or on them, it would be easy for them to get lost in it. Technology has evolved through the years and it’s going to keep on evolving. It’s probably going to get to the point where Bradbury story might even be a resemblance of life. Just imagine people being controlled by technology, the world being run by robots, obeying whatever the laws are because humans aren’t obsolete. This just might be our future but we will never know.

This story was really interesting to me. It made me wonder if this is really what the future will look like.I know people think that phones are bad now but in the story it seems that we just can't  get away from it. Going for a walk now is normal, no ones going to stop you for no reason, people still control their lives, and there aren't any robots running the country. Hopefully technology won’t overcome us and destroy humanity.

I AIN'T GOT TIME FOR THIS

My habits support my goal by being committed. I want to learns somethingg that I can take with me when I get older.

HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE

Understanding my time use can help me understand how to use my time by seeing when will I have time to do things that need to be accomplished. I could also see the useless things that I don't need time for. I could add schedule to keep me on track.

THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE

I will learn more about sites that can help keep my e-mail secure and safe. I will also be changing my password frequently. The 2 step verification is something that I want to have on my phone so I could see how many times have people tried to get on my stuff.

FOR THE WIN

Something I've done very well in this class is writing in the journals. As I look back and find something that makes me proud, I tend to think of nothing in particular but the knowledge I've learned in this class is something that i'm proud of.

The Making of an Essay

Writing essay's have been tough for me because I seem to have nothing to write about. When I do have something to right about I always have trouble putting it together for the teacher to understand. Essays would not be a problem for me if they weren't boring. I learned that I have to at least try to write a essay the way I want, the way I see it.

HOW I READ

Reading isn't something that I hate but it sometimes gets boring for me because either the book is boring or I just don't feel like reading. I was not a big fan of reading out loud in school, I feel like I read and understand the book more when i'm reading it by myself. I like reading books that have interesting plot twists or about crime. I'm open to reading different genres of books that I haven't tried.

Hack to School
